I was touched by the story “Jurist moves past poor judgment,” Dec. 12. Still, State Supreme Court Justice Bobbe Bridge was at the 0.21 percent level and was involved in a hit and run of an unoccupied vehicle. The point I’m trying to make is it could have been a person killed or maimed in that hit and run and the sentence would have been a couple of years in jail.
We should overhaul our drunk driving stance. Kill a person with a gun or your hands and go to jail for a long time. Kill a person in a car while driving drunk and get out in a couple of years. If you are caught driving drunk, you should get the book thrown at you because it is like walking around with a loaded gun in your hand and waiting to stumble and put a bullet in someone. I feel like crying every time I read about a person or family killed by a drunk. Get them off the road.
