Regarding the pig mural controversy in Snohomish at the BBQ Shack: My children and I have always thought it was distasteful and rather trashy looking, not to mention sad at the thought of a live animal standing and smiling in an oven. We hate that mural!
I think it is ridiculous of the owner to be suing for damages from the City of Snohomish. If they are just out for the publicity again, well now they have it as the article was on the front page of The Herald.
I’m sure if they hired a professional painter to paint the building – over the mural – it would be a vast improvement in the appearance of the corner, as well as making the owners appear classier and more in tune with a historic city.
Perhaps the restaurant owners should take the money with which they have retained an attorney and instead donate it to Hurricane Katrina-affected restaurant owners for their “lost business and stress.”
