On Dec. 3, my son’s Boy Scout group (Pack 36) sang Christmas carols at a fund-raiser breakfast at the Snohomish Senior Center. The cost of the meal was $5 for adults and $3 for kids. I do not know how much was raised, but I’d estimate close to 200 people had breakfast that morning. Before the morning was through, someone had stolen all the money collected.
Here’s an idea: If you had breakfast that day (or even if you didn’t), go back and pay again. The seniors work hard to cook and serve breakfast once a month for anyone with a few dollars in their pocket. It’s a big meal that is worth much more than the meager cost.
The Center, 506 Fourth St., Snohomish, is open weekdays at 9 a.m. If you have a chance this Christmas season, please help replenish what was stolen by paying $5 for the breakfast served on Dec. 3.
If we all give a little, the funds will be replaced.
Merry Christmas,
Chad Donohue
Snohomish
