No one likes to hear, “Well, in my day…” or “When I was your age…” However, when I constantly hear about parents worrying over how to pay for their child’s college education, I want to barf ! Folks, I worked my way through college, with a wife and baby, for the last two years.
Yes, it can be done, with little or no help from parents. And who ever said we parents owe you kids a college education? Why do so many kids feel they require a new Honda, computer, furniture, bottomless credit cards and binge drinking to make it through four years of college life? What do you kids plan to do when, and if, you finish? Move back home?
Show them the way, parents – just don’t pave it with gold.
