Party-line votes failure of system

The president’s call for bipartisanship pleased me, although it seems I’ve heard it in every State of the Union speech as long as I can remember. It would have had a lot more impact if he had turned around to Sen. Reid and Rep. Pelosi and said, “This means you, too.”

I believe that every bill that is passed on strict party lines is a failure of our legislators, our democratic system and our two-party system.
