I was upset when I read, in Tuesday’s Herald, that our government, the Obama administration and the leaders of our country, are considering a package of economic assistance for Egypt. (“U.S. weighs debt relief for post-Mubarak Egypt“).
Clearly, to consider sending any more money to any foreign nation, when we have devastated areas along the Mississippi and in New Orleans still not repaired, unemployment ranging from 8.9 percent to 16 percent (including millions unable to claim benefits any longer), and unfinished fence/barriers on our borders — which all need money to be completed.
We should take care of our own people first, then go out and help others, if there is any money.
