On behalf of the Granite Falls School Board of Directors, I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to the entire community of Granite Falls for its support of our recent levy election. Our students are the winners in this election. Our students will benefit from new textbooks, after school programs, technology upgrades and safe and well-maintained facilities. Our students, most of whom are not old enough to realize it, are very lucky to live in a community that provides such wonderful support for academic achievement.
A special thank you to a very dedicated core group of volunteers: Mike Haug, Cory Hitchcock, Jody Hillery, Steve Howell, Karen Hickenbottom, Elizabeth Adams and Grace Coykendall for all your hard work. We also extend a thank you to all the volunteers who wrote letters, stuffed envelopes, made phone calls and waved signs, and to our business partners for reader-board messages and financial support to the citizen’s committee.
This is truly a community that works together to make positive things happen for our children. Even in difficult economic times the Granite Falls community has once again made education a priority, has once again said that learning comes first.
Thank you for your vote of confidence in our schools.
