George W. Bush has my vote all the way. Give me a man who speaks plain English. Give me a man who rolls up his sleeves, loosens the tie and sticks to his principles. Give me a man who trusts in God and says so, a man who understands the power of faith in the White House.
Listen to America’s teenagers. They want a president who trusts in his maker. In a recent survey of 500 male and female teens ages 12-17, the American Bible Society, in partnership with Synovate/TeenNation, found that 67 percent of American teens think that God and/or faith in God belong in the White House. When asked if the president should pray before making important decisions, 72 percent of the surveyed teens said yes.
Whoever runs for president in 2008 had better examine their faith now. Many of today’s younger teens will be able to vote then and this survey shows that they aren’t likely to back a candidate who’s wishy-washy in matters of faith.
Nor will I.
