After all the uproar over the discovery of native American Indians graves at local construction sites in the county, one would think that elected officials would understand the need to preserve these sites. But the City of Snohomish is now going to basically pave over an established pioneer cemetery. You would think that the same consideration would be given to the destruction of a known cemetery as a newly discovered burial site found on a road or construction site. Are we so land poor that we are willing to desecrate the dead so that the living can have a new senior center? Think about the example and message being sent to our young people. Do you want them to build a shopping mall or highway over your grave?
