After reading your March 20 article about Snohomish County leasing parking space to Boeing at Paine Field, I felt sick. I thought, here we go again, ripping off Boeing. This ranks right up there with the union idiocy that sent
the second 787 line south. Not in scale, of course, but it has the same nickel-and-diming attitude behind it.
Now I’ll admit that I don’t know what a fair rental price for an unused concrete area is, but $3,750 per month, per plane, seems a bit stiff to me. That’s if there are 20 planes parked there. It’s more per plane if there are less.
Your article left me with a couple of questions. 1, Is Boeing leasing 1.4 million square feet for $75,000? 2, You mentioned that other customers have paid the same amount in the past. Any of those businesses still at the airport?
