The county planners need to have some of their power reined in. The growth taking place on my street is really ridiculous.
I have lived on Ash Way in South County for the past 29 years. It used to be a very nice road. Now the county has let anyone build anything. We have condos with detached walls and the roads are so narrow people park on a strip built for walking, for children on their way to school. On any given day there will be semis parked there and children go between or around them.
There are no parks or anything else for the children. It’s not even safe to walk on this road. It’s a straight line with I-5 and buses go from Mariner Park &Ride to 164th Park &Ride with no stops on Ash Way.
Almost every piece of property has a land use sign on it.
Soon, if the county planners and developers get their way, there will be 18 houses on 1.7 acres across the street from me.
So finally, I ask if any of the planners has been out here to see what they are doing and this horrible mess they have made of this area.
