I recently had a conversation with a lady in the Marysville Fred Meyer. She was on her personal mobilized cart. She noticed my cane and asked me if I had trouble with people dashing in front of me, which almost causes me to fall. I told her yes, that it happened a lot. She said people think we can stop on a dime with any walking or riding conveyance such as ours.
We use these items so we can still be independent, and still be able to get where we need to go by ourselves. When you see someone walking slowly or with an item they need to walk with, please take a second of your time to give them a little space. We didn’t plan to become like this, believe me.
I promised the lady that I was going to write about this to your paper. So here it is. One final thought — this could be you some day.
