Pledge to veto raises is heartening

Thank goodness we have a county executive who has the guts to say “no” to an indulgent council. With the significant rise in energy costs this winter, everyone will be tightening their belts. Why should our elected representatives be any different? What kind of message does that send? I was so disgusted to see them vote themselves a raise but heartened when I read about Mr. Reardon’s pledge to veto. Fiscal responsibility is a must. Thank you, Mr. Reardon, for keeping that in mind.
