I just had to write. In reference to the Oct. 16 article written by Cathy Logg with the headline, “Police were ‘rude’ about murder arrests”: Give me a break. What is your point?
The 16-year-old resident complained that “everybody was treated pretty rudely.” I don’t know about you, but I think that if a couple of accused murderers were hiding in your house, you would deserve everything you got.
The law officers obviously had a pretty good idea that two of the people allegedly involved in the execution-style killing of Rachel Burkheimer were in that house. Therefore you go and arrest the guys. I don’t think being polite and nice is high on the priority list when arresting criminals. However, that being said, maybe I’m wrong. Maybe an officer should have asked the kid detained in the patrol car if he was comfortable – maybe offered him a latte or something.
I would like to personally thank the law enforcement personnel involved in this case. You did a great job bringing these guys to justice. Keep up the good work.
