Politicians seem to lack common sense

Even at my advanced age of 64, I can still be irritated by politicians and their completely illogical sense of what is and what is not justice, and this time I am not talking about the gas tax. On Aug. 5, I read about Eric Christensen receiving a 19-year sentence for a home invasion robbery – which I believe he richly deserves despite the fact that no one was hurt.

However, I am reminded that a drunk driver in this state can kill someone or a group of someones and receive about three and a half years for each death caused by his or her stupidity. And, yet, we keep sending politicians back to Olympia without requiring a tangible demonstration of common sense.
