Regarding the letter, “Silly lawsuit against ‘GOP’ label typical”:
I am a Democrat, but I admit I also felt the same way when I first heard this one. However, one of our more enterprising TV stations did a short poll of people on the street, and I was horrified how many people did not even know what GOP was, and another goodly number thought it was a political party but did not know which one.
When a vote was as close as it was last time, even a couple of 10 could make a difference. Then, too, they got their point across, even though the pamphlets do not have to be re-printed. Considering all points, I presume that was what they wanted. Perhaps a few people did find out that the GOP (which used to be well known as Republicans) is still Republican, regardless of what you call them.
