Regarding the Sept. 28 article, “Behavior issues: the battle over Cascade High’s student newspaper’:
Unfortunately, there are those who take misguided advantage of the freedoms on which this nation was founded.
I was saddened to learn that Kay Powers was rehired as a teacher. Although no longer in journalism, she is again placed in a position where she is able to mislead young people.
The hiring of Ms. Powers by the Everett School District is an insult to those who have sacrificed their lives to protect our freedom of speech and of the press.
