I don’t understand the people who disagree with me and, sad to say, there are lots of them: people with a large collection of guns, folks who refuse to get the covid shot, followers of Donald Trump, people who took part in the Jan. 6h insurrection; and the list goes on and on.
As I recall the Bible says we are to love thy neighbor as thyself. But I find it difficult, if not impossible, to love this contentious group of people. To me they are unreasonable and possibly even dangerous. So what should I do; ignore them? Shun them? Write them a nasty note or send them a newspaper clipping reiterating my viewpoint?
Sadly it’s not likely they’ll listen to my take on the matter. And I’m not likely to change my mind either. Maybe I should just trust the leaders of our government to make wise decisions and listen to the people they represent. In the meantime let’s pray about it; it’s probably the only recourse we have.
