President Emmert shouldn’t meddle

Regarding the decisions to keep football coach Tyrone Willingham and fire Athletic Director Todd Turner at the University of Washington:

On Todd Turner’s side: I feel the decision to keep Coach Willingham should have been his alone, and not with interference from President Mark Emmert. Turner should be the sole decision maker for coaches; that is his job description, not the president’s.

The president’s job description is to hire and fire athletic directors.

However, the argument against Todd Turner: How can you, the athletic director, be a planner for remodeling and expansion of the football stadium if you cannot fill the present seats because you continue having a losing season year after year?
