Regarding the letter, “Police need new ‘no-chase’ rules”: The loss of an innocent person in Everett was a tragic accident and should not have happened, but to blame the police is wrong.
The police are doing their job and it is not an easy one. Blame the one who caused the wreck — it was his decision to steal the truck in the first place and speed through the streets — no one forced him to do that!
Some of the blame also lies with a system that releases offenders back into society time and time again. How are they supposed to take the law seriously? This practice needs to stop ASAP. Citizens should be outraged at this. It is costing too many dearly — and this time it cost a wife and mother her life.
