Thank you for printing the article on the diverse groups that are protesting war with Iraq (Dec. 8). The fact that there are many organizations and hundreds of thousands of people who do not believe that war is the answer to our problems is not something you usually see on TV or in the paper. Many of these groups (Pax Christi, Sojourners, Evangelicals for Social Action, e.g.) are also members of the Seamless Garment Network which promotes a consistent ethic of respect for all life.
Let the president and your legislators know that you expect them to work toward peaceful and just solutions to conflict and that one life lost (on either side) is too much.
