I certainly agree with the letter printed in The Herald on Jan. 7, “Events center: Let voters speak on the future of downtown.”
Hey, c’mon – why the heck do we need a hockey arena in our city? Who is that interested in hockey? Only the powers-that-be in our city. We need a lot of other things more than a hockey arena in the midst of this “recession” – hopefully not to become a depression, which many of us elders lived through and which was really devastating. Maybe these powers-that-be think this generation needs a depression.
Let’s have a vote on it so we cannot be fooled into believing this thing is needed!
And with a possible real war coming up in our area – bah, humbug! Our city leaders should use their common sense, if they have any, to dismiss a possible catastrophe.
