The Everett School Board and Cascade High School Principal James Dean should be ashamed of themselves for treating Chrystal Doucette so harshly. Why is it the “Johnny Can’t Read” syndrome runs rampant in our school systems and yet the Everett School Board and Principal Dean pick on an A student in Running Start?
Where is this school system’s priorities? This student’s senior presentation was originally scheduled for May 23, so why wasn’t she given a second opportunity (like other students) before graduation? There was plenty of time. Why did the school board deny the Doucettes’ request to discuss the situation at the school board meeting in early June? Why did they deny this student participation in the graduation ceremony and then schedule her presentation one day after graduation day? It sounds like the school system is hiding something and is treating Chrystal Doucette cruelly and punitively. Where is this school system’s integrity? I’m sure glad my kids don’t attend Everett schools. What an education they teach – do good, get kicked. No wonder good kids go bad.
