Ask yourself this: How many accidents will the concrete barriers on I-5 prevent? The real answer is, of course, none. Wouldn’t it make more sense to put the $28 million into something that would continue to actually benefit the citizens who use the road? I wonder how many new State Patrol units could be added to our force with this money? I believe it would be a much smarter move to improve the patrol and let them do their job – this would actually help save lives and the benefit of the money spent would come right back to the taxpayer and not in some contractor’s fat wallet.
I drive this road every day and it’s always an adventure. The patrol is doing more now than before, but it’s not nearly enough. This state’s Department of Transportation is without a doubt the worst in the lower 48. Please do not let them waste this money.
