Put other teams on front page, too

First of all, I want to offer my congratulations to The Herald for being recognized as one of the top 10 sports sections in the country; it is a recognition well deserved. With that said, I want to note that the coverage of the boys’ and girls’ state basketball tournament has been wonderful to read. However, I want to point out that on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, there were three front page articles and pictures about Snohomish basketball, both boys and girls alike. Even in defeat there was a front-page article!

While the other local area teams at state have been recognized with articles and pictures inside the sports section, it would be nice to see another team featured on your front page. The Jackson girls mounted a huge comeback to win a game, the Lake Stevens Vikings girls won a game Thursday, Mariner fought valiantly in their two defeats, and Edmonds-Woodway won a game at state as well. All of these teams deserve kudos for hard-fought games at state, win or lose, but c’mon, give us some variety and coverage of another team on your front page besides Snohomish!
