I find it a bit amusing that the people of the Gleneagle housing community would be opposed to new development in their area. I can remember a time when local community members were totally opposed to a new development in their area. The development that was proposed was The Woodlands. The Woodlands was a new housing development with a nine-hole golf course located east of the Arlington Airport between Arlington and Marysville. Local residents said that this community would ruin their standard of living, bringing more cars, congestion and noise to the area.
Isn’t it ironic that the people of The Woodlands (Gleneagle) are now the same people who oppose development in their community? Development will happen in the area that community leaders are showcasing for NASCAR. The question is, what will that development be? More houses, strip malls and industry? Or, the crowning jewel of Snohomish County, NASCAR?
