I read all letters to the editor in The Herald; it is a good place to get a snapshot of the values held by our community. Plus it gives us exposure to contrary and sometimes thought-provoking alternate ideas.
One way to really take the pulse of our community would be to have a way in the online Herald to simply give a letter a thumbs-up or a thumbs-down.
