I have been a card-carrying Democrat and union member for over 40 years. As such I would like to give our county executive, Aaron Reardon, a little advice: Listen up, youngster — get over your loss in court with the newly formed clerks union. Quit wasting time, and our tax dollars, by trying to place the blame on the union. Instead you should be taking the high ground and enter into meaningful negotiations that will get your employees a contract they need and deserve.
Your change of venue tactic to have the case heard on appeal in another judicial district will only pour gas on the fire, which will lead to more hard feelings, and make fixing this problem that much tougher.
If I had wanted this management style in county leadership I would have voted Republican.
