I commend The Herald for its reporting of recent activities by our County Executive and his staff, and Scott North and Noah Haglund should also be commended.
I believe that when words like honesty, integrity come to my mind, two names jump out. They are former County Executives Bob Drewel and Willis Tucker. When I hear the words “enemies list,” the names Richard Nixon and Aaron Reardon appear at the top of that list.
Reardon is correct that his employees can request records on their own time, but why won’t he address the issue of phony names used for these requests?
As a retired county employee I was very aware of the integrity both Drewel and Tucker brought to the office every day. They had dedicated staff who worked for the betterment of our citizens every day. I would be willing to bet this month’s Social Security check that when either found out any of their staff members were involved in this type of deception they would immediately be terminated.
And above all, Reardon should be aware of the huge cost to produce the requested records could be better spent on programs that benefit all of the citizens of Snohomish County.
