When Mayor Ray Stephanson’s daughter and former City Council President Marian Krell purchased their homes in the Forest Preserve development, surely they were aware that the police practice range was located nearby. Why do taxpayers have to pay for a new facility when the old one seems to be working just fine for the police?
Krell and Stephanson’s daughter should have considered the noise factor before choosing to purchase their homes near the range. I lived for nearly 30 years close to the shooting range and the noise never bothered me. In fact, just the opposite; it was reassuring to hear the police honing their skills. Several new developments have been built up around Boeing, yet no one would seriously consider making Boeing move their facility because of the noise impact on their new neighbors.
