The law in this state needs to be changed! It’s on the side of the criminal and they and the lawyers know it.
Recently a man shot and killed a teenager who had stolen the man’s car and the young thief had a record a mile long. Had he lived, he undoubtedly would have enjoyed life-long room and board at the expense of honest, law-abiding taxpayers.
Another store operator chased thieves and shot at them until they ditched their car and got away. He was detained by the police. It’s no wonder our jails are full and we need new and bigger jails. The criminals have the law and cops on their side. This is not justice and needs to be rectified so that honest people can defend themselves and their property without fear of being treated as a criminal.
After all, the police will openly tell you that they cannot help you when you need their help. Both of these men ought to get good citizenship awards for fighting crime.
