The decision by the Snohomish County prosecutor not to seek the death penalty in the Ivanov case and the Reed case seems to me to smack of incompetence in the prosecutor’s office. (Tuesday article, “Prosecutor won’t seek death penalty in slaying of Oso couple.”) It’s much easier to let the state taxpayers support these murderers in relative comfort than to do his job and vigorously prosecute these animals and remove them personally. The citizens of Snohomish County and Washington state deserve better.
