I wish to comment on the Wednesday letter regarding the travel ban. First off, refugees do not receive welfare! Many organizations such as churches or citizens groups may support refugees with housing, to include living with them, teaching all family members English, helping the children to get into school and trying to find other refugees or immigrants that have been in America and could be of assistance.
For a number of people who believe that any refugee can simply walk up to an American embassy, request and receive a visa and come immediately to the United States is false. If these refugees managed to survive the shelling and shooting they find their way to refugee camps. They are questioned or interrogated for a three- or four-year period and not even 1 percent may be allowed to enter the United States. Most Americans don’t either know this or care to. Many Americans believe that this process of interrogation that took place under President Obama was not good enough, therefore these Americans refuse to accept that the refugee screening process is very detailed! These refugees are not getting a free ride or welfare!
