The Herald ran a commentary on July 22 that asked why students in the U.S. are shying away from science, and a whole list of countries that don’t have that problem. Could be they are not as serious about religion as we are. According to Time magazine, a Gallup poll shows 150 million Americans believe the world was created about 6,000 years ago. Most fields of science have the world being billions of years old. Without a doubt, a large portion of students going onto higher education see science as a danger and threat to their religious beliefs.
