Enough is enough! It’s time our presidential candidates recognize they are running for the office of President of the United States and not for the office of the nation’s supreme preacher and pastor.
The discussions about their religious beliefs have become a distraction to the process of electing our next president. We need candidates who can stay focused on finding solutions to the many challenges our country faces today at home and abroad.
As a voter I expect the opportunity to cast my vote for a leader who is level-headed and able to convince me that he understands the intricacies of the issues that impact all of our lives. The separation of church and state has always been the guiding principle to help us avoid the pitfalls that plague countries like Iran and Syria. The last thing we need right now is our own ayatollah.
So, let’s get back to asking the candidates to share their plans of how we can continue to keep our economy growing and provide jobs and educational programs that meet the skill level demanded today and well into the future.
