Sept. 11 has a whole new meaning this year. We are honoring the fallen firefighters, policemen and policewomen along with all of the innocent others that fell that day trying to help others in a time of crisis. My heart goes out to each and every person that lost someone that day. They should know that the world will always honor them every Sept. 11.
I am writing this because recognition and praise has not been given to the airline employees that had to resume flight after 9-11. They are the only ones who had to get the United States flying again during an unknown certainty. Pilots and flight attendants took to the air to show the world that we, the United States of America, will not have our freedom of flying taken away.
These employees were scared, but maintained a confident and professional manner for the passengers that would fly. In the past year I have not once heard anyone acnowledge them as heroes too. Remember that they also lost crew and family members but they still took to the air when the president told them they had to – scared or not.
My heart goes out to all of the families and our fallen heroes of Sept. 11 and I feel that everyone needs to be recognized. I’m living each and every day to the fullest.
