Republicans and Democrats have no integrity nor honor if they don’t call for the resignation of U.S. Rep. George Santos, R-N.Y. and state Rep. Clyde Shavers, D-Oak Harbor. The public trusts individuals who file for office. They expect them to tell the truth when they state their qualifications for office. False claims by candidates violate the public’s trust.
Both of these candidates have lied about their qualifications for office. Neither is fit to serve the public. Both should be removed or resign from their positions and both political parties should work to make this happen.
As a retired naval officer, it is a disgrace to have someone who lied about their military service placed on the House veterans affairs committee. Rep. Shavers should be immediately removed.
