$41.2 million for the renovation of North Middle School doesn’t seem that high to me. A lot people have been comparing it to the new administration building, which cost $26 million. However, the administration building doesn’t need to hold hundreds of students. And the school needs new desks, chairs, and other supplies for every student, unlike the administration building.
Renovating anything can cost quite a bit. So the renovation of an entire school should raise a large price tag. Coupled with all the new supplies that North Middle School needs, the $41.2 million seems like a reasonable estimate on the cost of this project.
