I have known state Rep. Carolyn Eslick for 20 years in her various roles as a citizen of the Skykomish Valley, Sultan City council member, mayor of Sultan, our House Rrepresentative in Olympia, and in broader roles and projects such as Grow Washington. In all of these, she has worked hard for the people of our community and others in a uniquely collaborative style.
Carolyn has always been about what we can do together to resolve issues or create something new that is a benefit to all. She has been a strong supporter of Fire District 5. Approximately 20 years ago, she facilitated the transfer of property on which our current station sits from the city of Sultan to the fire district. Carolyn guided the city to sell the property at a nominal price rather than at market value, recognizing that the citizens of Sultan shouldn’t have to pay twice for the same building. She recently also played a big-picture role in helping Fire District 5 obtain $1.5 million from the state, which could enhance the planned new fire station’s training room and include provisions for a regional Emergency Operations Center that will also serve as meeting room for the community.
Carolyn Eslick is a strong, collaborative leader who gets things done by building coalitions; of us, by us, for us. Please vote with me for Carolyn to create the best future for Washington.
