Regarding the commentary by the Yakima Herald-Republic editorial board (“A reminder to save 911 for real emergencies,” The Herald, June 6) it is recommended non-emergency situations be reported online.
While I certainly agree many 911 calls are inappropriate, it does not work with the Snohomish County Sheriff, at least in Sultan, and it didn’t for me. A few months ago, I reported a vandalism matter online. After a week of not being contacted or updated, I contacted an officer. I was told that they don’t even get a copy of such online reports, which are used for statistics only. So much for that!
