Reprimand or censure in order

Hey! hey! Ho! ho! Patty Murray has got to go! What a disgusting discourse she delivered during an appearance at Columbia River High School in Vancouver, Wash. While members of our armed forces are being asked to place themselves in harm’s way, she has the gall to heap praise on Osama bin Laden. Shades of her colleague, “Baghdad” Jim McDermott. They should join forces and enlist the expertise of such noted Hollywood “foreign affairs experts” as Sean Penn, Julia Roberts, Barbra Streisand, and (if he’s still in the country) Alec Baldwin, to name but a few. Between them, they should muster the I.Q. of a No. 2 pencil. Her question to the students was, “why is this man so popular around the world?”

Hello! Senator Murray, this man is a tyrannical oppressor and killer of thousands of people, including Americans. Why you thought this question deserved debate among our young people is so far off the wall, it defies logic. Where by the way, is the proof that your new-found friend Osama has built schools, roads and other infrastructure, including orphanages?

Sen. Murray’s irrational, insensitive challenge to these students cannot go unchallenged. Whatever credibility she believes she possesses is indelibly tainted. Furthermore, her remarks are an affront to every person wearing the uniform of the United States. While an apology from her should be forthcoming, it will never erase the damage she has perpetuated. It will be interesting to see how her Senate colleagues react to her unfortunate remarks. Hopefully, they will consider some type of reprimand or censure, it is most deserving.
