When President Obama created the Affordable Care Act, he stated up front that this would be only a first step in rectifying an abhorrent medical care system decades in the making. Like anything deeply entrenched in the economic fabric of the country, it would have to be revised carefully a step at a time in order to avoid crippling chaos. Neither he nor the Democrats of the country have any quarrel with the need for the revisions that he described, whatever party controls the Congress.
It needs to be said out loud that the only reason the Republican party is adamant that the process be derailed by this repeal and replace agenda is that, by their own doing, this act has Obama’s name on it. They cannot resist the opportunity to undo everything that has his name on it regardless of its wisdom or value and turn our government into a Republican cartel.
The whole process of medical care reform in Congress since Jan. 20 has been pilloried upon the altar of partisanship to the point where those clowns stand quite ready to kill millions of our own citizens to crush the opposing party. In a court of law this would be labeled “indifference to human life,” a pretty term for murder.
I love my country. It is my home and the dwelling of my dreams and memories. But I am embarrassed and ashamed of the vicious cartel that dares to call itself my government.
