As a citizen of the City of Arlington, I would like to applaud the spirit of customer service and servant leadership displayed by our local government.
There have been a few times over the past year where I have had to contact different departments of our city, including Public Utilities and the Police Department. Each time I was treated courteously and the staff worked diligently to respond quickly to issues and handle concerns.
Most recently, I had occasion to address our City Council this month regarding a minor problem that I observed in my neighborhood. That very same night, the council dispatched police personnel to do research and start to create a solution, and I even had a council member meet with me a week later to gather additional facts.
In this day of graft, corruption, government waste and tax increases, I am glad that we have such responsive and dedicated people who serve our community here in Arlington.
