As I have traveled the road of life all of these years I have been continually fascinated by some of the things that happen. Perhaps someone can help me understand.
As I drive by a busy intersection I see a person waving a large sign that asks for money — for various reasons. Why isn’t he/she doing something to help their situation rather than idly waving a sign?
As I sit watching TV, an advertisement arouses my senses because the volume is much louder than the program I was watching — so I turn it down, then up when the ad is done. Why doesn’t the FCC regulate volume? Same subject — TV ads: Why has the content of many ads gone from reasonable to inane? Is it assumed that my intelligence has diminished?
I watch the health-care discussions and wonder if continuous TV advertisements for pills are a large part of the cost of medicine.
I retired with a reasonable retirement fund years ago, and wonder why that retirement money no longer goes as far. So, I did extensive research and found that my retirement dollar is now worth — in today’s world — 45 cents. Is it a senior’s benefit to be unable to pay my bills, or I must re-mortgage my house?
