How much more do we want to tax?
Thank you for the question.
The answer is, many of us, including our ancestors, now Democrats, now progressive populists, now the tired, poor, oppressed and yearning to be free, want more. We want “ample provision.” And we want it now.
We want “ample provision for the education of all children” per our ancestors, Washington State Constitution, Washington state Supreme Court and us.
We want ample funding, ample time, ample leadership, ample teachers, ample volunteers, ample materials, ample nurses, ample counselors, ample security, etc., for the education of all children.”
We want to ‘git ‘er done.
We know, this place called Washington state is more than a house. It’s our home.
We know, we have more than 39,000 homeless public school children. We know 15 percent or more of our 1 million plus public school children will drop out. We know, mental illness wreaks death and destruction upon our fellow citizens.
We know the signs along our byways, with words “Please don’t drink and drive.” Meanwhile, a fellow citizen is suspected of drinking and driving for an eleventh time.
And the list goes on and on and on. The ignorance, apathy, rip offs, etc., are astounding, stunning and unacceptable.
I’m here. I’m there. I see it. I hear it. I feel it. I sense it. Injustice.
Still, We march. Yesterday, today and tomorrow.
Persist. Persist. Persist.
Tomorrow, we vote.
We’ve had enough.
