Rewriting history and Demo bashing

Regarding the Monday letter, “Liberals have own version of history”:

The writer expressed his frustration with the outcome of the 2004 Rossi/Gregoire race. Apparently he arrived at his historical perspective of the contested race by watching something he assumes “liberals didn’t watch” (Fox News, perhaps), and through his girlfriend’s second-hand anecdotes.

Might I suggest, the archives of The Herald, or for that matter, any number of other responsible newspapers for additional facts and a more balanced truth.

His concluding sentence was, “Now I know whose kids (implying those of Democrats) will be serving my kids french fries when they grow up.” That notion of service seems a bit narrow, shortsighted and self-aggrandizing, but really might be a telling example of what Republicans mean when they talk of allowing individuals to thrive.

The Democratic goals as expressed in Sunday’s guest commentary by Mark Hintz through phrases such as “providing for the future of my children and all the children growing up today”, and “to provide a strong community that treats every person with honor and respect,” seem more worthy of both our kids and our great nation.

For the health and welfare of all our children, I’m skipping the fries and voting Democratic.
