Regarding the Friday editorial, “Vote yes on I-594, no on I-591”: Feel good fallacy: “I-594 will limit the number of wife beaters, felons and people with serious mental illness from obtaining a gun.”
Great but meaningless sound bite.
Apparently it escapes the knowledge of the editorialist that the vast majority of crimes committed with guns are done by those already prohibited from having guns, or who have access to guns regardless of any laws.
The only real effect beyond costly inconvenience this ponderous law will have is to make selling stolen guns, etc., more lucrative by driving up the street price.
