In response to all the letters written about the Ash Way park and ride on-ramp, I couldn’t agree more.
My carpool buddy and I were also eagerly awaiting the opening of the “carpool” ramp from the Ash Way Park and Ride. We frequently talked over the summer about how we were tired of putting our lives at risk every day trying to cross three lanes of traffic and get out of a lane that seemed like everyone else wanted to use. Why in the world would anyone want to use the on-ramp to cross three lanes of traffic to get on the I-405 merge?
Is this the answer we receive from our transportation “experts?” Buses and carpools can’t safely use the same on-ramp because it is too steep? Are you kidding? Do we anticipate that there will be so many buses that it will back up and there will be no room for cars and vanpools?
I intend to vote yes on I-912. Why give the Department of Transportation, Sound Transit and Community Transit the opportunity to waste my hard earned dollars again and again?
