With sadness and anger I realized my quick trip to my favorite vegetable market – Carlton Farms – would be an adventure in making my way through yet another construction mess. What gives?
Reid and Mary Carlton are two of my favorite people in this community. Their farm is a place I can go for entertainment, conversation, quality produce, a latte, ice cream and the wonderful ambience of farm life. I will continue to be a loyal customer of Carlton Farms and coffee stand.
I only hope the government personnel who made this decision to close this road, and the construction workers, are also shopping at Carlton Farms for their own fruit and vegetables. Let’s not just give lip service and words in the media about supporting our farmers – get down to Carlton Farms and help a farmer.
