Community Transit is auctioning off 11 of its Rapid Transit Service buses. In one of those babies, favored by commuters for their cushy seats, you could take a sweet trip with your friends, family, neighbors and co-workers and a dog. Might as well pack light, though. Since fuel is so expensive, you probably won’t be able to get much farther than Index.
While looking for films to put in our Netflix queue, we noticed that “Nancy Drew” is out on DVD. After reading a plot synopsis, we can tell the movie is only loosely based on Carolyn Keene’s mystery series, because Nancy and Ned kiss at the end. If the film were like the books, they’d just stand near each other and occasionally think about holding hands.
Boys at a Minneapolis high school apparently have a new way to make the girls swoon: lots and lots of cologne. The stench is “indescribable,” one student says. A Minnesota lawmaker says the fragrances are harmful and wants an education campaign to discourage kids from using so much of them. Meanwhile, police are considering spraying cologne as a new tactic for dispersing mobs.
